Tourist information website although it is not official but has accurate information  Tavelchinaguide.

I used ChinaHilights site  in my trip.

Where I’m going next:

First I am going to Tibet ( formaly in China).

After goining to Mongolia.

Guilin

When I was in Hong Kong I thought it was in China.

I took a fast train, reached a speed of 242 km.

My mistake, when I arrived at Guangzhou station, total shock. It is monstrous, nobody speaks english, did not know where to pick up my ticket and  after 2 hours trying to pick up the ticket I missed the train to Guilin.

After another hour I managed to change the ticket and finally I was able to go to Guilin.

Guilin area is famous for the Li river, where I took a tour of Yangshuo, another typical city in the region.

I went trekking in the rice fields of Longsheng.

Hora de seguir caminho. Peguei 2 trens para chegar em Zhangiajie.

Zhangjiajie

Everyone knows the hallelujah mountains from the movie Avatar.

They were inspired by the mountains in this park.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is one of the best national parks in China.

It contains the essence of Zhangjiajie’s scenery, the imposing sandstone pillars, sometimes in seas of clouds, rich wildlife and tranquil streams.

Another attraction of the area is Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, 45 km from the park.

The bridge has 430 meters long and is 300 meters high across the gorge. Then go down the stairs on the other side and follow the valley for about 2 hours until you leave the park.

Time to go to Shanghai.

Shanghai

Shanghai situated on the Yanhtze River estuary and a mixture of modern and traditional and western and eastern cultures.

It is the financial, commercial center of China. A vibrant city with all that is good about technology, new ideals, but not forgetting China’s past.

Now is time to kwon Terracota warriors in Xian.

Xi'an

I came to Xian because I wanted to see Terracota, but I was very surprised by the city.

Xian is one of the most important cities in the region and has a key role in the history of China.

For those who do not know a bit of Terracota history.

Qin Shi Huang (259 BC – 210 BC) was China’s first emperor. According to historians, Qing Shi Huang ascended the throne when he was 13 and started building his mausoleum in the same year.

He used approximately 720,000 workers and only finished at the mausoleum in 210BC just before his death.

Due to the war with the Han dynasty part of the site was destroyed and lost in time and only in 1974 one farmer find some pieces when they were preparing the land for farming.

The city is very modern, with stores of the best and most expensive brands in the world.

City attraction is a street with food that is known as Huimin Street or Muslim Quarter.

After seeing the Terracota and getting to know this amazing city, it’s time to go to Tibet.

Beijing

After Xian I went to Tibet and now to Beijing.

Beijing having been the capital of China for over 800 years, it has some of the best remnants of the imperial past like Forbidden City.

The Temple of Heaven, The Summer Palace is of course the Great Wall of China, some 70 km from the city.

The nearest wall is Badaling but it is very crowded so I decided to go to Mutianyu Great Wall.

The weather was not very good but I could enjoy it.

The wall in Jiankou is challenging, because besides the relief, it has not been rebuilt.
