Tourist information official website of the government of Thailand.

Where I’m going next: Camboja.

Krabi

I was finally going to Thailand.

From Langkawi there is a boat to Satun and from there I took 2 buses to arrive in Krabi, my first stop in Thailand.

My first surprise was the quality of the roads, everything is very simple but very good quality, no holes.

Krabi is a small town in southern Thailand, on the banks of the Krabi River (Pak nam Krabi). It is the starting point for islands and the most famous beach in the region, but I found it worth staying for a few days, as it has a lot to offer.

The first beach is Ao Nang, which is about 10 km away. The second is Railay beach, which can only be reached by boat and is popular with lovers of rock climbing.

There are hundreds of routes for all abilities, another option is Tonsai beach is a more hippie version, much cheaper but with a very simple infrastructure, getting to have no eletricity in many places.

We also have the islands I went to on several islands (island hopping) like Hong lagoon / Hong island, chicken island, Poda island.

After days in this paradise I moved to Phi Phi.

Phi Phi Islands

Phi Phi is one of the most famous islands in Thailand and one of the best places for diving, however I soon started to discover one of Thailand’s vocations, which are ballads.

The island has a lot of life very early with divers leaving and then about 10 hours of galley going to the beaches, in the early afternoon with the arrival of tourists coming from other places.

From 2 pm until 8 pm, the island is a bit deserted, but after that, it pours into the bars with music and drinks. The mess, drinks, rolls all night.

Here, in 2004, the Tsunami that images swept the world took place. It is also here the famous Maya Bay where “The beach” was shot with Dicaprio.

It is a very common beach, the only thing is that it is in a formation accessible only by boat.

Some days, several dives and it’s time to head to Phuket.

Phuket

Since I arrived in Thailand, I started to discover why it is a place for tourists.

It has wonderful places, amazing food, everything very cheap and the tourism infrastructure is perfect, everything is found and the ballads are endless.

Phuket is say a doom. Here everything is taken to the extreme. It has tourism for all tastes and budgets.

It has restaurants of all types of pockets, shopping malls, endless bars of this juice on the beach and the whiskey club.

A very famous thing here are the Tattoo houses, there are dozens.

Another thing that is not lacking in Thailand is a massage parlor, but 95% are for tourists, I do not say that it is not a good one after a tiring day (beach, sun, food, drink, walks) relaxing in a massage besides it will cost us $ 5.00 an hour without crying, as it can be much less. so let’s enjoy …

First I went south to visit Raya island. Then I went to visit James Bond island and the floating village Ko Panyee.

It’s time to get out of here, because otherwise …… .. I’m going to the other side of Thailand.

James Bond island

Koh Samui

The time has come for a change of scenery. So far I am in the Andaman Sea and I am going through Thailand to the Gulf of Thailand.

I’m on my way to Koh Tao, considered one of the best and cheapest diving places in the world.

On the way I discovered that on the island of Ko pha Ngan there will be the biggest ballad in Thailand which is the full moom party.

So I decided to stay on an island before it is Koh Samui. It was super relaxed, as most were going to Koh Pha Ngan.

So I was able to enjoy the quiet, clean beaches and the boat rides and beaches that were much more empty.

Koh Tao

On the way to Ko Tao the boat passes through Ko Phan Ngan and you could see the damage from the party the night before.

Ko Tao is a tiny island and basically lives of diving. I had the best and cheapest diving, especially the last one where I dived with several whale sharks.

Ko Tao is recognized as the best and cheapest place to dive in the world. Marine life around the island is abundant. After several days of diving, it was time to go on my way.

I took a boat and bus to Chumphon, then a train to Bangkok.

This is the end of the beach phase. Now is to go to Bangkok.

Depois de varios mergulhos o primeiro encontro com a Tubarão baleia

Segundo encontro com o tubarão baleia

Encontro especial com dois tubarões ao mesmo tempo, coisa muito rara.

Bangkok

The train was very comfortable arriving at 7 am in Bangkok. Researching I decided to stay close to Sukhumvit.

It is a neighborhood with good access, many restaurants, bars, shopping malls, a good number of hotel options and far from the most touristic places, but very easy to access.

Very rainy days so I went to Pataya, further south where it was sunny.

Returning to Bangkok I went to visit Chinatown and the most famous temple like Royal Grand Palace, What Po, Wat Arun etc.

Here I did the visa for China and I didn’t get the visa for Japan, they only grant the visa in the country of residence and I would not go back to Brazil, so I couldn’t go to Japan.

The first time in Bangkok I took the planned route and went to Cambodia.

After having passed through Cambodia and Vietnam, I returned to Thailand and from Bangkok I took a flight to Honk Kong.

Pataya

Pataya is a city of ballads. I believed Phuket had been great but Pataya really is for those who want to get lost in the night.

The city during the day is quiet and has several very beautiful beaches, but it has little to offer other than the clubs, shopping and restaurant, of course compared to the other cities in Thailand, but at night everything changes.

I went to the Nong Nooch gardem which is a wonderful place where they built a park of gardens, floating marketing and Sanctuary of Truth, which are the main attractions in the area. As the weather in Bangkok improved it was time to return.

Chang Mai

As I did not get a visa for Japan and with the shortest visa for China I had 3 weeks to spend.

So I spent about 10 more days in Vietnam and afetr Laos I decided to return to Thailand.

Vientiane is the northern border with Thailand.

I took a bus from Vientiane to Chang Mai, it’s 10 hours of travel.

Chang Mai is known for the large number of temples, mountain trails and of course a nightlife full of options.

It is also one of the most chosen places by digital nomads to live in Thailand, a mixture of tranquility, cost and good life.

But the show must go on and it’s time to go back to Bangkok to fly to Hong Kong.

Now it’s time to go on to Camboja.
