Zagreb

I’m coming from Sarajevo and the road to Zagreb was a surprise as it is very different from the landscape on the Adriatic side.

On this side it is a plain with many plantations, see my trip along the Adriatic coast.

Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, is a place where history intertwines with the vibrant present.

With a heritage that dates back to Roman times, the city exudes a timeless elegance. Its meticulously preserved baroque and neoclassical architectures bear witness to centuries of development and evolution. The majestic palaces and imposing squares invite visitors to explore the deep layers of its historical narrative.

However, the vibrant pulse of the city is in the streets of Tkalciceva and Ilica, where cafes and restaurants, bistros set the cheerful tone of the city.

Modern life takes place here, where young and old come together to share stories and celebrate life.

Art is also an essential part of the city’s cultural fabric. Museums and galleries showcase a wealth of local and international talent, from classic works to contemporary experimentation.

The Mimara Museum and the Modern Art Gallery are treasures for art lovers, providing an immersive experience.

At nightfall, the city takes on a new life with the liveliness of the streets and the hustle and bustle of the bars and clubs. The nightlife scene is a fascinating mix of music, dance and good company, where the nights stretch until dawn.
