Venice

Cenice

We took the train from Milano centrale station and went to Venice.

We stayed in Venezia Mestre, which is a station before Venice (island), it is much cheaper and much quieter to sleep.

Venice is located in Veneto, in northern Italy, considered a World Heritage Site by Unesco has more than 260,000 inhabitants

We got up early to be able to enjoy more Venice before the vast majority arrive.

The train takes just eight minutes, crosses the canal, and arrives at Santa Lucia station located in Piazzale Roma, the last point where transport from the mainland arrives.

The city has more than 100 islands, 400 bridges and 150 canals, which serve as streets for locals and tourists alike.

It has a very different atmosphere from other cities, especially if you get lost in its narrow streets and canals, discovering alleyways, old mansions, and secular buildings.

I visited a mansion that was over 300 years old.

When you think of Venice, you think of romanticism, with the gondola rides and the singing of the conductors, in addition, of course, to many films that we have already seen.

I always like to see the most famous places, but also to get off the beaten track, to experience more local situations.

Of course, we went for a gondola ride, to St. Mark’s Square, to visit the Basilica, the Rialto Bridge, etc.

But to get to know Venice better, just leave this indicated path, when you see an arrow indicating the path goes in the opposite direction, thus finding many picturesque places, and great restaurants, in addition to many dead ends when you come across a canal.

After dinner, we take the Vaporetto back to the train station.

Two days knowing Venice it’s time to move on to Florence.
