Austria – A brief history

Austria is located in the central portion of the European continent.

Its territory is limited to Italy and Slovakia (to the south), Germany and the Czech Republic (to the north), Hungary (to the east), Switzerland and Liechtenstein (to the west).

On my trip around the world I could not miss visiting Vienna.

I had planned to visit Salzburg, the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, but with time getting short, I was able to get only to know Vienna.

Vienna

Austria’s capital, cultural and political center, it is a perfect destination for those who are passionate about history and art.

The city was for centuries the imperial capital of the Habsburg house that started in 1278 and must end in 1918 and, serving as the capital of the Austrian Empire (1804-1867), it became the fifth largest city in the world.

Vienna was the home of the Habsburg Monarchy, which began in 1278 and ended in 1918, after the First World War. Even today, there are many gala dances in the city, as they were done during the monarchy.

It lost much of its importance and its population after the first world war

Very interesting city and always in our imagination, with castles, waltz balls, music, etc.

It has more than 100 museums, is famous for its residents and great musicians like Beethoven, Strauss and Mozart.

The historic center of Vienna is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Vienna Ringstrasse is a boulevard where the best and most well-known sights are located, such as the Imperial Palace, natural history museum, Vienna opera house and parliament and also an urban park. The food is also very good.

For those who want to buy the Goldenes Quartier has the best stores in the world. I went to Kärntner Strasse in the main Swarovski store.

There are every incredible piece there, some costing close to € 25,000.00.
