After 8 hours and the border crossing I arrived in Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh, better known as Saigon.
Ho Chi Min is revered in Vietnam.
He was one of the founders of the communist party, prime minister and also president of the country
Ho Chi Minh is crazy, chaotic traffic.
The most famous in Vietnam is the war and the most famous are the Vietcong tunnels. I went to visit the Cu Chi tunnels.
It was not in the plans but to decide to go south to visit the Mekong River Delta.
After returning, I stayed a few more days in the city and discovered a beach that was worth visiting and went north stopping at Nha Trang.
Mekong River Delta
Tired of arranging all transport I took a 3-day tour to the Mekong River Delta.
The first day was a 6 hour bus ride and the afternoon was free in Can Tho.
City tour and at night a tour of the Ninh Kieu Wharf where there are night boat trips.
The other day was the tour in the delta and at the Cai Rang floating market.
In the afternoon we went to Chau Doc near the border with Cambodia on the way we visited a crocodile farm.
The other day we went to visit the Sam mountain temple and pass by the rivers
Nha Trang
Heading north and with information received from several travelers
I decided to stop in Nha trang.
It was a wonderful surprise.
The city beach is unbelievable, very clean, quiet and it seems that it is isolated.
I decided to stay a few days just resting and enjoying the sun.
Soon the quiet ended, as there was a music festival on the weekend and the city was starting to fill up so I decided to go further north and went to Ho An.
Hoi An
Hoi an is a small town that stopped in time, this is the charm of the city. Everyone comes here to see this city from the past.
The place is of tranquility and nature, beautiful beaches, walks in the countryside. I went to visit Charm island.
The other day I went to My son temple (Mison). It is a complex from the same era as Angkor wat.
After days of tranquility, lots of sun, the beach had to face yet another chaotic city and I went to Hanoi
Hanoi
Hanoi is everything you would expect from a big city in Asia. Too much traffic, mess, lots of people on the streets, lots of parties.
The city has a lot to offer. I went to visit One pillar pagoda, the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum and there is a large lake nearby.
I took the time in the city to get my visa for Laos.
The other day I went to Perfume Pagoda (Chua Huong) is a complex of Buddhist temples and pagodas on Huong Tich mountain.
We took a typical canoe on a slow and relaxing ride on the Yen Vi river.
After a few days I went to visit Vietnam’s most famous natural attraction, Halon Bay.
I returned to Hanoi and went to Sapa, famous for the mountains.
Halon bay
Halong was one of my goals.
The vast majority will visit Halong bay from Hanoi, but I decided to go there to get to know it better.
First I went to see Halong, which is a small town divided by the sea with a big bridge.
I stood in front of the Sun World Halong Complex and went to the beach.
As I was staying in Halong I was able to take the first boat to Halong Bay, being able to see it almost without a tourist.
I heard that there is an island that is better than halong bay called Cat Ba.
After a few days I went to Cat Ba. It is Halong without tourists. A few more days and I went back to Hanoi, and went to SAPA
SAPA
Sapa is in the mountains, a type of Campos do jordão em São Paulo, but without sophistication, it has many trails and I was getting ready to do some, but the weather was very bad, raining a lot.
The first day I was walking around the city. The other day the weather improved and I was able to make a trail in the surrounding villages.
The trail to the highest mountain (Fansipan) was set but everything depended on the weather that didn’t help, I was only able to visit other villages.
As the weather didn’t improve I went back to Hanoi to go to Laos, because the SAPA route to Luan Prabang is very bad and with the rain it becomes very dangerous and I didn’t want to risk it.
