Dolomitas - Alta via 1

Day 3 Pomedes refuge (2303 meters) to Cinque Torri refuge (2137 m)

We left the Pomedes refuge and went on the Cinque Torri circuit and returned to Pomedes.

Right at the beginning with a super steep descent on trail 421 to the Dibona refuge (2083 m).

Trail with many loose stones and very steep, what required greater care was a zigzag between landslides.

After going down to Dibona, we turn left and continue down the road for about 200 meters until we exit into the forest on trail 442.

Several very steep sections, but a very quiet trail to Cianzopé where we cross the highway, pass through a gate, where there is a stop for the transfer to go up to the Cinque Torri, we turn left and then start climbing to the right on trail 439 to the Cinque Torri.

The ascent has very steep sections, but well, calm through the forest until you reach the Refúgio where the forest ends.

Jorge and Roberto went to do the circuit around the towers and Milton and I stayed resting in the shelter.

After a nice lunch, we start the way back.

Day 4 - Refuge Pomedes (2303 meters) to Forcella Col dei Bos (2331 meters).- Pomedes

I decided to rest and enjoy the group that makes the via ferratas, on the Tofana mountain in front of the Pomedes refuge.

More details on via ferratas click here.

Milton, Jorge and Roberto went to Forcella Col de Bos.

They went down to the Dibona refuge on trail 421 and took a trail that goes along the edge of the mountain to Forcella col dei Bos.

On the way back, they took the lower trail to Dibona and went up to Pomedes.

Day 5 - Pomedes (2303 meters) - Cinque Torri (2137 meters) to Nuovalau (2575 meters).

Now it’s time to move on, we leave the Pomedes going down (track 421) to the Dibona refuge, we go down through the forest (track 442) and up (track 439) to the Cinque Torri.

As we arrived early for lunch, we continued on the trail to the Scoiattoli refuge where, surprisingly, a section of the TEDx curtain was taking place.

We have lunch and follow trail 439 going up to Averau and then Nuvolau.

The Nuvolau refuge is the highest (2,575 meters) and simplest on this trail.

It is at the top of the mountain and we stayed in a room called by us, the hobbit’s hole.

Had to get down to get in.

Day 1 From Cortina D'Ampezzo to the Pomedes refuge (2303 m)

Day 6 - From Nuvolau refuge (2575 meters) to Passo Staulanza refuge (1766 meters)
