When you talk about travel, you always wonder how much it costs. Certainly money is the second biggest difficulty to travel, losing only for time.
The biggest curiosity of people is how someone can travel so much and they believe they can not. But there is a way.
How to make more money is very difficult and requires lots of time, effort and difficult changes.
The best and easiest practical alternative is to spend well less on each trip. So save money to the next trip.
Veja aqui, my post on how to plan your trip and including the tips below your trip will be more memorable and in greater quantity.
So let’s see how to travel spending a lot less on 5 foolproof tips.

1- The first and most important tip to save money is to travel outside the tourist season.

Only this tip can make your trip 30 to 40% cheaper. In this period all agents (hotels, restaurants, tour operator) lower prices to attract more people.
You can find cheaper airline tickets using this tip.
A ticket to Miami from December 23 to 31 costs R $ 3,517.00.
The same package from March 23 to 31 costs R $ 1,605.00.

In this case, the airfare was cheaper by 55%.
Transportation is a big part of the travel costs.
It is certain that besides the change of the time it has also more influence of second tip that is advance planning.
It shows that by combining several of the tips here, you can save a lot on your money vacation.

2 – The second most important tip is the advance planning.

There are several studies that shows planning ahead decreases costs by an average 30%.
Businesses encourage people to book in advance through discounts and / or include more services such as room upgrade or some gratuities.
On average 3 to 4 months has the best costs.

3 – The third is your travel style.

Your style has a fundamental role in costs because it determines where you are staying, eating and sightseeing.

Accommodation:

Depending on Hotel location and style, the economy can be huge.
The location of the hotel is very important for your travel experience, however, separated by a small distance, but with different styles you can save a lot and still be in the same place.

See these two hotels in Ao Nang in Thailand.

Mapa hotel tailandia

With only 300 meters away and of course a 4 and a 2 star hotel, with a difference of $ 1,200.00.
I stayed at the iDeal Hostel, which is about 100 meters from the Wake Up hotel, and I paid $ 8.00 a night.

Food:

Everywhere in the world has great restaurants, but they are much more expensive.
Usually we will have lunch in the shopping centers, where food is better known, but also expensive.
If you venture out and discover the local restaurants you will be amazed by the flavors of the food and for sure it will be much cheaper.
Another tip is do not buy water, chocolate, and goodies in the tourist areas. Just walk a little and find supermarkets, where local people buy and you will pay 3 or 4 times less.
In Thailand, in the most touristy areas, what is easily found is a 7-Eleven, where I paid R$ 1.50 per 500ml of water and in the supermarket 1.5 liter for R$ 2.00 because it is cold if it is without ice is even cheaper.
If it is important for you to eat in restaurants do this at lunch time. The dinners are always more expensive.

Transportation:

As you have already chosen your hotel in an easily accessible place. The ideal is to use public transport to get around.
First you will have a much more real experience because you will meet 100% local people.
The cost it is extremely cheaper, than using taxi or tour bus.
In addition to giving you great freedom to come and go.
Walking, is also very good, for health and you see a lot more of the way, because everything goes very slowly and better, it costs nothing.
Another great option, much used is rent a bike. Except in very chaotic cities like Ho Chi Minh, Jakarta or Bangkok. it is quite safe to use the bicycle.
If your trip is to Europe then it is bicycle paradise.

4 – The fourth is the flexibility of dates and times.

If you do a price search and changing your dates in just a few days you can make big difference in prices for both tickets and hotels etc.

Also change the flights departure time. Example A flight to Rio on Monday morning is much more expensive than the same flight on Wednesday afternoon.

Flights departing on Tuesdays or Wednesdays are cheaper than Friday and Saturday.

Today the amount of luggage also makes the difference, therefore, there are many lowcost companies, that the passage without or little luggage, is much cheaper.

You can also see the current price compared to the average price.

This way you will know if you are buying at the right time.

5 – The fifth is the promotions.

If you have no time and place, a great option is to keep an eye out for promotions.
You can find incredible discounts. Sometimes they are not exactly where you want to go, but they are unmissable options.

Signing up for newsletters and travel deal alerts can be a powerful tool in your search for affordable travel options.

Skyscanner – One of the best search engines. He searches many sites and low-cost airlines with lots of savings options.

Google Flights – Allows you to enter your departure airport and see flights from around the world on a map so you can determine where the cheapest destination is.

Additionally, taking advantage of credit card loyalty and reward points programs can provide significant savings on flights, accommodations and more.

On my last trip to Key West the ticket cost was US$ 290.00 with card points.
